The Kuennen Northwest School Safety Readiness Survey received 17 responses, from 9 districts and 8 individual schools, representing 100 schools serving 45,170 students. As this was not a randomized scientific survey, the results should not be interpreted to be representative of the whole state. However, there are some interesting results for these 100 schools.
One hundred percent of schools reported having a comprehensive safe school plan. Respondents indicated that 85% of the schools’ principals had received Incident Command System training (ICS-100).
Eighty-two percent of the reporting schools indicated that they had conducted the required annual inventory of hazardous materials. All but one of the schools reported that they conducted the required monthly drills, and 79% of the reporting schools indicated that they use Rapid Responder to document these drills.
The following charts summarize the results of the remaining questions regarding use of Rapid Responder.
If you would like to add your voice to these results, you may access the survey here – Readiness – School Safety Survey If a significant number of responses comes in, we will modify this summary report.
